EXCITING INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES – MAY TO SEPTEMBER 2025

National Medical Stores is an autonomous Corporation that was established by an Act of Parliament in 1993. Our mandate is to procure, store and distribute medicines and other medical supplies to health facilities.

Our vision is “A Population with adequate and accessible quality medicines and medical supplies.”

Our Mission is “To effectively and efficiently supply essential medicines and medical supplies to health facilities in Uganda.”

As part of our commitment to nurturing young professionals, NMS invites applications from eligible students for internship placements between May and September 2025.

Eligibility criteria 

To be considered for an internship at NMS, applicants must:

  • Be citizens of Uganda.
  • Be enrolled in a university or equivalent tertiary institution for a degree program.
  • Have completed at least Year II of study.
  • Provide an introduction letter from their university indicating the purpose of the internship.
  • Attach an updated CV and academic testimonials/result statement.
  • Hold a valid Student ID and National Identification Card.
  • Clearly indicate the internship period, course, year of study, and
    expected learning outcomes.
  • Have a competitive CGPA, which may be considered during selection

Mode of Application

Interested candidates should submit their applications online by following these steps:

  • Prepare the required documents:
    i. National ID and Student ID
    ii. University introduction letter
    iii. Updated CV
    iv. Academic testimonials/result statement
  • Scan and save all documents as PDF files.
  • Submit applications via: http://careers.nms.go.ug

Failure to attach any required document will result in automatic
disqualification.

Terms & Conditions

  • a) Internships and Graduate trainees will last between one to six months
  • b) Interns and Graduate trainees will be expected to adhere to NMS working hours and code of conduct.
  • c) NMS reserves the right to terminate internships/placement without notice for non-compliance.
  • d) Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
  • e) If you do not receive communication within one month of the application deadline, consider your application unsuccessful.
  • f) Any form of canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification.
  • g) NMS reserves the right to verify submitted documents with relevant institutions.
  • h) NMS is an equal opportunity employer.
