On Tuesday, 27th October 2026, we hosted a delegation of religious leaders for an engagement aimed at deepening their understanding of the organisation’s mandate and the processes involved in ensuring the availability of essential medicines and health supplies across the country.
During the visit, the General Manager, Dr Moses Kamabare, took the delegation through a series of presentations and discussions on NMS operations, explaining the organisation’s role in procuring, storing and distributing essential medicines and health supplies to government health facilities.
The religious leaders also toured the warehouse, where they got first-hand insight into the processes involved in receiving, storing, managing and dispatching medicines to health facilities.
Dr Kamabare emphasised the importance of engaging religious leaders and other community influencers, noting that their positions of trust and influence make them valuable partners in raising public awareness about NMS and its contribution to healthcare delivery.
He highlighted the opportunity for the leaders to share the knowledge gained with their respective congregations and communities, helping more people understand how medicines reach government health facilities and the work involved in ensuring timely and reliable supplies.
The engagement also provided a platform for strengthening collaboration between NMS and religious institutions, recognising their important role in community mobilisation, information sharing and promoting public understanding of the health sector.
Through such stakeholder engagements, NMS continues to build awareness of its mandate and strengthen partnerships that support the delivery of quality healthcare services across Uganda.
