National Medical Stores

KAMPALA, UGANDA — The Rotary Club of Medical Stars is gearing up for a major milestone as it prepares to officially usher in its new leadership for the 2026/2027 Rotary year, marking its first-ever transition of power.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, the club will host its 2nd Presidential Installation ceremony at the prestigious Victoria Ball Room, Speke Resort – Munyonyo. The high-profile event will see Charter President Sheila Nduhukire officially hand over the mantle of leadership to President-Elect Norbert Kazibwe, who will steer the club’s ambitious humanitarian and health-focused agenda for the coming year.

The evening will be graced by the Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda, who will attend as the Guest of Honour.

Honoring a Trailblazing Foundation

As the very first corporate-based Rotary Club in District 9214 (covering Uganda and Tanzania) embedded within a public health institution, the club has enjoyed an incredibly impactful inaugural year under Charter President Sheila Nduhukire.

From its official chartering by Rotary International, Nduhukire’s tenure has been defined by rapid momentum. Most notably, she recently led the club in hosting global Rotary International President Francesco Arezzo during his official visit to Uganda, where they launched a mega medical camp at the NMS Kajjansi grounds that provided free healthcare to over 3,500 patients. Under her guidance, the “Medical Stars” also mobilized hundreds of participants for the annual Rotary Cancer Run and championed environmental stewardship by planting trees across the region.

A New Chapter for the Medical Stars

Incoming President Norbert Kazibwe’s installation marks a new chapter to scale these foundational successes. Taking the wheel for the 2026/2027 year, Kazibwe is expected to expand the club’s corporate-civic hybrid model—leveraging National Medical Stores’ systemic logistical strengths to expand medical camps, boost maternal and child health initiatives, and improve health literacy in vulnerable communities.
